How to run an online auction

Configure auction type and start the live Auction tab.

An Online Auction in prokurit.ai is a live bidding phase on a published event. A Host configures type and timing on Settings, then starts the clock from Event Management with Start Auction Now.

You will learn how to:

  • Set Bid Direction and Event Type
  • Start, pause, and monitor the Auction tab
  • Understand what Participants see

📌 This guide walks you through running an online auction in prokurit.ai.

Step-by-Step Guide: Configure the auction

Step 1: Enable Online Auction

Click Settings.

Under Select Event Features, open Online Auction.

Set Start Time and Min Duration.

Step 2: Publish the event

Invite accepted Participants, then publish. You cannot start the auction if nobody has accepted.

Step-by-Step Guide: Start the live auction

Step 1: Open Event Management

Open the published event.

When the auction is scheduled and has not started, click Start Auction Now.

If no supplier has accepted: Cannot start auction — No supplier has accepted this invitation yet…

Step 2: Confirm start

You should see Start auction?

Click Start auction (or Cancel).

The live header shows Time Remaining: and Pause.

Click Auction for the live Host view.

Step-by-Step Guide: Bid as a Participant

Step 1: Open Auction

On the event, click Auction.

Before start, copy may say the live feed appears one hour before the event starts.

Live labels include:

  • Auction ends in / Auction closed
  • Live Auction Feed
  • LIVE / CLOSED

Step 2: Enter a bid

On a lot, use Enter bid in the Enter new bid column, then Submit or Cancel.

States include Awaiting host, Bidding closed, and rejection messages when a lot was rejected in qualification.

Key Considerations & Best Practices

  • ✅ Auction types in the UI are Ranked, Open, and Japanese.
  • ✅ Add lots and get at least one Accepted Participant before Start Auction Now.
  • ✅ Qualification bids (if used) sit on Qual. Bids / RFQs, separate from the live Auction tab.
